Visit Your National Parks

The Grand Canyon Edition

We have all seen images of the Grand Canyon, one of the natural wonders of the world; unless you see the powerful, endless landscape up close photos will never do it justice. As we walked down the path leading up to the Grand Canyon, I don't think either of us know what to expect, but at the first glimpse of the canyon, we were both overwhelmed by the depth and beauty of our surroundings. The 18 mile wide, 1 mile deep geological masterpiece looked like a watercolor painting from all views.

Ken and I spent time walking around the rim of the canyon trying to take it all in. Per usual, we didn't stay on the designated path and spent much of our time climbing up and down rocks and finding spots to escape from the tourists. Personally, I am not afraid of heights, so at one point of our journey here I walked to the edge of a very narrow cliff to get a whole new perspective.

After spending time on the main trail, we drive around the outer rim of the canyon that has many stops along the way for you to park and view from many different views. Be sure to give yourself a few hours to enjoy this park and do not rush through it.
