Pep Talk

I was recently reminded of the song, "Wear Sunsunsreen" from the late '90's.  Do you remember this one? It's the graduation speech that inspires us to live our lives to the fullest, to dance, to love! As I re-listened to the song for the first time in about 15 years, I cried (true story) because of how beautifully written the song is and how inspired I felt. For the last month, I have been listening to this song everyday on my way to work and am completely moved every time I hear it. The song has become my daily Pep Talk to live, to love, to be grateful and to relax.

Written by one of my favorite film writers and directors, Baz Luhrmann (Great Gatsby, Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge!) enjoy his words and message. Lyrics Below:

Be careful whose advice you buy but be patient with those who supply it
Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past
From the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts
And recycling it for more than it's worth
But trust me on the sunscreen

Glacier National Park

We finally made it to Glacier National Park! I have been wanting to visiting this park for years and am so grateful I made it here. The only problem was, we were fighting day light, cloudy skies and limited access to the park when we arrived. We did our best trying to see it all and take in the full experience while in this beautiful National Park. Most of our time was spent around Lake McDonald staring at the reflection the mountains were creating.

Even with our restrictions / limitations, I thought the scenery was breathtaking and enjoyed every moment I was here. This park is gorgeous and I cannot wait to come back sometime in spring or summer to discover all the beauty inside.

Blame it on #Vanlife

Again, I am inspired by another couple who boxed up 'real life' and drove off to truly experience life and adventure. There is a common thread amongst the VanLife videos I see and that is the struggle we are all facing to discover ourselves. Why is this challenging to us and is running away the best way to find it?

I, too, am struggling to discover myself and it has become a source of stress and anxiety in my life. Everyday, I seem to fight my restless heart that wants to drive off to see the world and discover what it's like to be free. I'm ready to escape this routine life for a bit; to learn, to grow and to fall in love with life all over again.

Until I can convince Ken to pack up the van and run away with me, I will continue to dream over these videos. Enjoy this one!
